As an avid sailor, I love to travel to destinations where boating is definitely part of the overall experience. However, whether boating or not, I am keenly interested in the truly local architecture, culture, cuisine and art as well as (for non-developed countries) the current political/economic issues vis a vis development, exporting and poverty. If time permits, I enjoy meeting and interviewing Canadian expats – it always provides a truly unique angle.

As Publisher of Canadian Yachting for 12 years, I wrote (or assigned) and edited more than 750 articles focusing on destinations (local, national and international), boat reviews, product reviews, personal profiles and DIY. I left my post as Publisher to pursue a freelance career in travel writing and photography. I am passionate about travelling to new places and sharing my unique perspective on how to maximize the travel experience whether dining at a five-star hotel or visiting the local orphanage and teaching the children how to make fruggles. I am also the publisher of “Muskoka Originals,” a hard cover coffee table book depicting the lives and art of 22 juried artists who reside in Muskoka.

I am the 2014/2015 Vice President, Media for the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) as well as a member of PWAC and NATJA. I am also a student of The Photography Institute.
